Savannah Levin Highlighted for Most Promising Newcomer Recognition
Foley & Lardner LLP associate Savannah Levin is featured in a Q&A with The Recorder for her recognition as a finalist in the Most Promising Newcomer category at the Law.com California Legal Awards.
Asked what life lessons have shaped her approach to legal practice, Levin described how her time as a professional and college soccer player taught her the value of adaptability, teamwork, and diligence.
“In soccer, the key to winning is not merely having the requisite skill but understanding how to adjust your play to the strengths and weaknesses of your opponent,” she explained. “The same applies to the law. I’ve learned that each client and case is unique, and each requires a tailored strategy. Executing that strategy requires working together with my colleagues and being diligent in our approach to reaching a successful result for our clients.”
Levin advised newer attorneys to “embrace the process,” noting how each step of the way can be an opportunity to grow and develop the skills of a successful attorney. She also spoke to the value that an emphasis on mentorship brings to a law firm.
“One of the reasons I was drawn to Foley & Lardner was their emphasis on mentorship – both official and unofficial – and their willingness to allow junior attorneys to take on instrumental roles in cases,” she added. “This commitment to fostering growth and providing meaningful opportunities not only enhances the professional development of young attorneys but also creates a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages long-term success.”
