Judith Waltz Discusses Medicare Advantage Compliance on AHLA Podcast
Foley & Lardner LLP partner Judith Waltz appeared on the American Health Law Association’s Speaking of Health Law podcast to discuss the impact of recent changes to Medicare Advantage (MA) compliance for plans and providers.
Waltz described what plans and providers are responsible for when it comes to MA compliance, the current MA landscape, compliance changes from a plans and provider perspective, and administrative enforcement actions.
“This is obviously an area of focus, compliance for Medicare Advantage for both plans and providers,” Waltz explained. She noted the large dollar amounts involved and the Trump administration’s expressed support for MA, though she added that given the administration’s increased scrutiny on eliminating what it sees as wasteful spending, “expectations for both plans and providers seem to be increasing and have higher risks in terms of non-compliance.”
