Susan Poll Klaessy Details Restructuring Landscape in Podcast Appearance – 'The band-aids are starting to come off'
Foley & Lardner LLP partner Susan Poll Klaessy appeared on the M&A Advisor podcast to discuss the current business restructuring landscape.
Klaessy detailed mounting challenges for both the manufacturing and real estate industries, with tariff volatility and pandemic-era fallout redefining the state of play.
“There’s some uncertainty there that’s causing both deal issues, import export issues, and really disruption to the supply chain as folks are figuring out which tariffs are sticking, which tariffs are not sticking, and what does it really mean,” she said, adding that each company has to find ways to protect itself along the supply chain as they navigate ongoing changes.
Turning to real estate, she explained that sports, entertainment, retail, and restaurants are now having to patch holes in deals made to stave off fiscal difficulties drive by the pandemic, noting that “the band-aids are starting to come off.”
