J.P. Vogel advises private equity, owners, developers, specialty subcontractors, suppliers, and manufacturers on every aspect of high leverage construction projects, acquisitions, and operations throughout the United States and abroad. His work spans industrial and manufacturing facilities, data center and artificial intelligence facilities, energy facilities, infrastructure and transportation projects, and commercial developments. He assists clients with contract structuring and negotiation, risk management, and dispute resolution.
J.P. has significant experience navigating issues involving delays, defects, change orders, payment and lien claims, project administration, and major contract negotiations. He frequently supports projects that require close coordination across technical, operational, and legal teams, including industrial and manufacturing builds, multifaceted commercial developments, data center and artificial intelligence projects, energy facilities, as well as large scale infrastructure and transportation projects.
J.P. also routinely advises private equity firms through the due diligence process for potential investments in both domestic and foreign construction companies operating as contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers across a wide range of sectors.
As matters increase in scope and complexity, he works with colleagues across labor and employment, tax, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, and regulatory areas to deliver multidisciplinary integrated support tailored to each client’s objectives. J.P. brings a straightforward, solutions‑oriented approach to advising project teams. He focuses on identifying issues early, outlining practical options, and helping clients make informed decisions under pressure. When disputes escalate, he represents clients in litigation and arbitration with an efficient, results‑driven style aimed at minimizing disruption and advancing business priorities.

- Represented ownership group related to the development and construction of a sophisticated plastics manufacturing facility, including successfully resolving litigation involving multiple parties and multimillion-dollar claims resulting from project disputes.*
- Represented an international owner in the negotiation of multiple construction contracts for an industrial facility construction project valued at more than US$100m in the Houston, Texas area.*
- Represented the U.S. division of an international auto parts manufacturer related to construction fraud investigation and related claims against contractors resulting from manufacturing facility construction project in Houston, Texas.*
- Represented an international electrical equipment supplier in the resolution of multimillion-dollar claims related to a dispute with its distributor resulting from a significant data center construction project in Texas.*
- Represented an international electrical equipment supplier in the negotiation of numerous master supply and services agreements, as well as related purchase orders with various owners and contractors throughout the U.S. for the construction of data centers, artificial intelligence and energy facilities.*
- Represented start-up U.S.-based commercial roofing restoration application company by preparing operating agreements, including those between its customers, contractors, consultants, and sales representatives.*
- Represented a family office related to various operations including construction operations, commercial real estate investments across the U.S., development and contractual management of safari park, and asset protection structuring.*
- Represented one of the largest commercial overhead door companies in the U.S. related to construction payment disputes in multiple jurisdictions.*
- Represented a subcontractor in a US$30m construction defect and delay claim included within a large multi-party construction defect lawsuit.*
- Represented a Texas focused developer with the creation and negotiation of construction agreements for the ground-up construction of several development projects across Texas.*
- Represented one of the nation’s largest steel fabricators in a payment dispute with a defaulted prime contractor on an interstate highway expansion project, including the perfection of multiple payment bond claims and the negotiation of payment to the client in excess of US$12m.*
