Foley & Lardner LLP Partner Ann Marie Uetz has been named a member of the 2022 Class of Leaders in the Law by Michigan Lawyers Weekly.
Honorees are recognized for setting the standard for other lawyers through their outstanding contributions to the practice of law and the justice system in Michigan. They have demonstrated tremendous leadership and offer a wealth of experience in diverse areas of the law.
Uetz is a trial attorney and vice chair of Foley’s national Litigation Department who focuses her practice on business litigation and bankruptcy. Practicing law for nearly 30 years, Uetz focuses on the manufacturing industry – chiefly suppliers in the automotive and defense industries – and uses her extensive and unique knowledge of the manufacturing supply chain to advise her clients on acquisitions, procurement and supply contracts, and disputes that arise within the supply chain. Uetz also heads Foley’s Coronavirus Task Force and is co-founder of the firm’s Coronavirus Resource Center.
Her pro bono work focuses on promoting social justice and wellness. Uetz was lead legal counsel to the founders of the nonprofit startup Cap & Conquer, whose mission is to raise funds to help subsidize Cold Caps, a scalp cooling technology to reduce hair loss during chemotherapy treatment. She has also assisted the Institute on Public Policy for People with Disabilities in Chicago, a nonprofit voluntary association of organizations supporting services to persons with developmental disabilities, and worked with Affirmations, a nonprofit organization that promotes the acceptance and basic human rights for the LGBTQ+ community in the metro Detroit area.
Uetz also dedicates her time to philanthropic and artistic endeavors in Southeast Michigan. She serves as a director on the board of First Tee – Greater Detroit, whose mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs through the game of golf. She also served as a director on the board of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and helped lead the organization through its debt restructuring and reorganization.
Honorees will be recognized at an event in Detroit on December 2, and profiles of the honorees will appear in a special section in the December 5 issue of Michigan Lawyers Weekly.
