Matt Kiel Named Emerging Leader of the Year at Los Angeles Business Journal M&A Awards

Foley & Lardner LLP senior counsel Matt Kiel was named the Emerging Leader of the Year honoree at Los Angeles Business Journal‘s 2025 M&A Awards.

Kiel was recognized for leading complex, high-value transactions across multiple industries and international borders. Highlights of his recent work include leading a U.S. market expansion for a UK‑based, private equity‑backed events and media company, guiding a Hong Kong‑based manufacturer in a strategic cross‑border partnership with a U.S. distributor, and navigating intricate capital structures and multi‑party negotiations for a sponsor in a preferred equity financing for a solar and battery storage platform.

A member of Foley’s Transactions Practice Group, Kiel represents public and private companies, private equity firms, and their portfolio companies in mergers and acquisitions, financings, and strategic partnerships.
