Mark Wolfson Honored as a 2026 Tampa Bay Lightning Community Hero
Foley & Lardner LLP partner Mark Wolfson was honored as a 2026 Community Hero by the Tampa Bay Lightning for his dedication to pro bono service in the Tampa Bay area.
The Lightning Community Hero program presented by Jabil celebrates grassroots heroes whose noble efforts make a positive impact in our community. Since the launch of the Community Hero program in 2011, the Tampa Bay Lightning Foundation has been honored to tell the stories of each awardee’s rich history of volunteerism and good works via an in-game video that illustrates how the Hero is using his or her life to help others less fortunate, followed by the Foundation presenting the Hero with a $50,000 grant designated to the charities of their choice.
Wolfson dedicated his grant to Bay Area Legal Services, where he has helped at least 45 low-income families seeking Guardian Advocacy for adults with disabilities navigate complex legal matters, many involving the care and protection of adults facing difficult situations. His longstanding commitment has helped expand access to justice for families throughout the Tampa Bay community who might otherwise be unable to afford legal representation.
Additionally, Wolfson has served as Tampa chair of the firm’s national pro bono committee for nearly a decade. Outside the legal profession, he has been involved for more than 25 years in leadership roles with Congregation Schaarai Zedek in Tampa and URJ Camp Coleman, a nonprofit overnight summer camp that serves children and teens from throughout the Southeast, including Tampa Bay.
Coverage of his recognition was also featured on Tampa Bay 28.
