Foley & Lardner LLP Of Counsel Mark Neuberger is quoted in the Law360 article, “States Are Confronting W&H Challenges Of Climate Change,” discussing the wage and hour considerations employers face as some states take action to expand employment laws in response to extreme weather events.
Neuberger said the legislation emerging to confront these challenges deals with two related issues: emergency response and exposure on the job.
“Ten years ago, I don’t know of any law anywhere that dealt with this stuff, and so this is a new area,” he explained. “But because we’re seeing more extreme weather conditions, this is something employers are going to have to think about.”
