Foley & Lardner LLP Partner Jeffrey Kopp is quoted in the Law360 article, “Averted Rail Strike Highlights Perils of Strict Absence Rules,” discussing how stringent point-based attendance systems continue to stir labor unrest and draw the ire of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
Kopp said the EEOC’s enforcement ramp-up on this issue doesn’t look like it will slow down.
“It’s becoming apparent that the EEOC has scrutinized these no-fault attendance policies and made it priority,” he said. “It’s an area where the EEOC wants to continue to prioritize their enforcement efforts.”
