Foley Public Affairs Team Helps Client Secure EPA Approval of Plant Pesticide Product
23 October 2019
Foley’s Public Affairs Team has helped a client secure the EPA’s approval of a safe and popular plant pesticide product.
The client, Central Coast Garden Products, makes a plant pesticide called Green Cleaner, whose list of ingredients includes sodium lauryl sulfate, a chemical found in many cleaning and beauty products.
Green Cleaner garnered a loyal customer following due to its effective, yet gentle, treatment of plants. But in 2018, the EPA ordered the company to halt sales of the product while it investigated the safety of sodium lauryl sulfate.
The company called in Foley’s Public Affairs Team, which navigated the product’s approval through a series of obstacles and delays, allowing Central Coast Garden Products to resume sales of Green Cleaner.
