The article discussed the increasing amount of states turning to private attorneys instead of their attorneys general in U.S. Supreme Court cases. Jacquot, a former Florida Deputy Attorney General, noted that there are several situations when outside counsel is beneficial, for example, when cases have a national significance, states are more likely to hire a Supreme Court specialist.
