Foley Advises LCMC Health in Acquisition of West Jefferson Medical Center

Foley & Lardner LLP served as legal counsel to Louisiana Children’s Medical Center (LCMC), a Louisiana-based not-for-profit healthcare system, in its acquisition of West Jefferson Medical Center (WJMC), a public hospital in Marrero, Louisiana.
LCMC Health took over operations of WJMC on October 1, 2015, following the approval of Louisiana’s attorney general and the signing of a lease deal with Jefferson Parish. The partnership includes a 45-year lease agreement and a commitment from LCMC to invest $340 million in capital improvements in WJMC over a 15-year period. The Foley team representing LCMC in the private public transaction included partners Mark Waxman, Steven Gerenraich and Wayne Osoba.
