Dallas Business Journal and Law360 both covered Wal-Mart Stores Inc.'s filing suit against the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission for the right to sell hard alcohol in its stores. The Arkansas-based corporation, which also happens to be the largest beer and wine retailer in Texas, argues that the state's refusal to allow publicly traded corporations to sell distilled spirits, and its exception for hotels, is both "irrational" and unconstitutional.
