While builders and developers are ready to jump onto the green building bandwagon, they find themselves facing cumbersome city-by-city construction rules. Cherie Raidy, a partner in Foley’s Los Angeles office, was quoted on this topic in the article titled, “Builders Find Cracks in Foundation of Green Building Legislation” in the July 16 issue of the California Real Estate Journal. Raidy was quoted as saying that comprehensive legislation seems inevitable this session for all the different aspects of construction – state, commercial and residential. She also said that to find a cost-effective workable solution, the agency in-charge will have to seek on-the-ground inputs from experts in the field of construction.
