Special Counsel Andrew Baluch was quoted in a September 25, 2013 Law360 article titled “China’s New Trademark Law A Boost To Brand Protection.” The article discusses China’s beefed up infringement penalties and other major revisions to its trademark laws. Baluch was quoted saying, “It’s not so much a problem of China’s laws on the books, but rather the enforcement of those laws in practice by the courts and by China’s administrative agencies. This is a positive, albeit small, incremental step. China’s intellectual property system still has much further to go.”
