Bloomberg Law
Foley & Lardner LLP partner Scott Ellis commented on the competition for legal talent and Foley’s comprehensive approach to assessing summer associate candidates in the Bloomberg Law article, “Big Law Recruiting Rush Puts More Pressure on Diverse Students.”
Firms are starting earlier than ever “trying to attract talent because in our industry, talent is where it’s at,” explained Ellis, who is managing partner of Foley’s Houston office and served as the office’s hiring partner for the past decade. “Talent is everything.”
Ellis added that in considering potential summer associates, Foley chooses to “look at the whole applicant as opposed to one data point.”
