Steven C. Lambert

Lambert, Steven C.We are saddened to share the news that Steven C. Lambert passed away on October 7, 2019 at the age of 72.

His funeral will take place on Saturday, October 19 at 11:00 am at Brentwood United Methodist Church in Brentwood, Tennessee. The family will hold an informal visitation prior to the service at 10:00 am on the same day.

Steven C. Lambert was a retired partner with Foley & Lardner LLP and was a member of the firm’s Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Government Procurement and Appellate Practices. Mr. Lambert served as the chair of the firm's Finance Committee and vice chair of the firm's National Pro Bono Services Committee. He also served for a number of years as the training partner for the Litigation Department. Mr. Lambert represented clients in a wide variety of litigation throughout the country. This representation included issues and litigation concerning transportation, natural resources, government contracts and tax-related matters.

In addition, Mr. Lambert was involved in various efforts on behalf of clients on Capitol Hill and within federal agencies. This representation included matters relating to federal taxation and the appropriations process, as well as matters arising before congressional agriculture and interior committees.

He authored several books and articles on taxation and eminent domain/valuation issues and spoke to numerous industry and judicial organizations on issues relating to alternative disputes resolution and other case management issues.

Mr. Lambert was involved in a variety of professional organizations. He was a fellow of the American Bar Foundation. Mr. Lambert was the former chair of the Advisory Council of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. He was a member and former president of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims Bar Association and a member and past president of the Federal Circuit Bar Association.

In recognition of his experience, Mr. Lambert was Peer Review Rated as AV® Preeminent™, the highest performance rating in Martindale-Hubbell's peer review rating system.

A law graduate of Georgetown University (J.D., 1974), Mr. Lambert received his B.A. degree from Duke University (1969). He was admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and before various federal Courts of Appeals, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. Tax Court, and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
