Foley Attorneys Speak at Bioforward's 2013 Bioscience Vision Summit

On September 18, 2013, Partners Allen Arntsen and Timothy Sheehan moderated and participated as panelists at Bioforward’s 2013 Bioscience Vision Summit.

Arntsen moderated a panel that was entitled: “David v. Goliath: Defending Against Patent Litigation Bullies.” Other panelists that spoke during the session included: Elizabeth Donley, CEO, Stemina Biomarker Discovery; Robert Hopton, CEO, Idle Free Systems, Inc.; and Michael Falk, General Counsel, WARF. The session discussed strategies a small or start-up technology company can use if an aggressive competitor tries to use superior resources to damage a competitor through aggressive and expensive intellectual property litigation. 

Sheehan participated as a panelist during a session entitled: “Building an International Presence.” Other panelists that participated included: Jeffrey Williams, President, Lucigen Corporation; and Elizabeth Donley, CEO, Stemina Biomarker Discovery. The panel was moderated by Lora Klenke, Vice President of IBD, WEDC. The session focused on experiences in managing international expansion and sales and addressed in depth the issues surrounding international licensing of technology.
