Partner Lawrence Vernaglia was quoted in a Boston Globe article, “Rising Costs, Changing Payments Driving Hospital Mergers,” on September 3, 2015. The article discussed the desire for hospitals to expand through mergers and the driving forces. Vernaglia was quoted saying, “You need to have numbers to make changes and have them make a big impact. You need expensive toys to do [it] right – analytics, technology, care teams, telemedicine – a whole arsenal of cool health care tricks, and they can’t be done by small organizations with small numbers of patients.”
