D Magazine Recognizes Three Gardere Attorneys on Its 2017 ‘Best Lawyers Under 40’ List

Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP is pleased to announce that associates Michelle Ku and Thomas C. Scannell, and senior counsel Sarah A. Walters, have been included in D Magazine’s 2017 list of the Best Lawyers Under 40, which recognizes outstanding young lawyers in the North Texas area.

To compile the list, the editors at D Magazine asked lawyers with a valid Texas Bar number to nominate two attorneys outside their firms and one within their firms (self-nominations do not count). After the votes are tallied, an anonymous panel of lawyers meets with the editors to evaluate the list, and winning lawyers are selected based on the evaluations. 

A member of Gardere’s litigation practice group, Ku is a former television sportscaster and teacher who uses her experience and training to create a courtroom presence that commands the attention of both juries and judges alike. Ku’s practice focuses on representing clients in arbitration, complex civil litigation and appeals. 

Scannell is a member of the firm’s financial restructuring and reorganization group whose practice centers around the restructuring of companies in and out of bankruptcy, debtors' and creditors' rights, and debtor-in-possession financers.

Walters is a corporate attorney practicing in the firm’s global supply network industry group and counsels national and global clients on a broad spectrum of supply chain and franchise transactions, including supply chain management, transportation, technology, domestic and international franchising, licensing, and mergers and acquisitions.
