Charles Maurer is a patent agent with Foley & Lardner LLP. He is a member of the firm’s Mechanical & Electromechanical Technologies Practice.
Prior to joining Foley, Charles worked for Johnson Controls as a test engineer.
Technology Area Experience
Charles has experience prosecuting patent applications in the fields of database and computer security and cryptography, image processing systems, avionics and radio communications systems, advanced control and optimization systems, Internet of Things (IoT), and cloud-based data processing systems.
Charles received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering (B.S., 2016), where his studies were focused on machine learning, embedded systems, and communication systems. Charles also served as a tutor for Milwaukee School of Engineering Raider Center for Academic Success. As part of a student design team, Charles helped design and prototype an ultrasonic anemometer for a degree capstone project.
