Quality Matters: The Role and Impact of Hospital/Physician Integration, Enforcement and EHR/Health IT in the Pursuit of Quality of Healthcare
Foley Partner Judith Waltz is speaking at the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s (LACBA) “Quality Matters: The Role and Impact of Hospital/Physician Integration, Enforcement and EHR/Health IT in the Pursuit of Quality of Healthcare,” June 9, 2009 in Los Angeles, California.
Like a perfect storm, a confluence of events is driving hospitals and physicians to cooperatively pursue quality patient care and efficiency with renewed intensity. The primary forces driving these developments include: increasing costs and time demands, declining reimbursement, shifts in payment methodologies, high-profile technological legislative and policy initiatives and stepped up enforcement.
This seminar will address California and federal “Never Events” reporting requirements, California’s “immediate jeopardy” administrative penalties and the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act. This seminar will also address the role and impact of greater promotion and use of EHR/Health IT, and the most common hospital/physician integration models used to align and coordinate hospital/physician interests and incentives to equip such providers to respond to the rapidly changing healthcare arena.
