Law Firm Recognized for Use of Multimedia to Provide Added Value to Clients, Foster Internal Communication.
Foley announced today that it has been named to the 2008 InformationWeek 500 for its use of multimedia to provide added value to clients and foster internal communication. This is the firm’s third consecutive year on this prestigious list, the results of which were revealed yesterday at a gala awards ceremony held during the InformationWeek 500 Conference at the St. Regis Resort in Monarch Beach, California.
“This award is yet another example of Foley’s commitment to industry-leading innovation,” said Ralf Boer, Foley Chairman and CEO. “We continue to invest heavily in innovative media which adds value to and enhances communications with our clients, including user-friendly multimedia content on our Foley.com Web site and internal and external video communications.”
InformationWeek recognized Foley for its three-phased multimedia initiative, which includes incorporating video on the firm Web site with a focus on accessibility. This provides Foley.com visitors with intuitive means for searching multimedia and standard Web content centered around attorneys’ insight on key issues in the current business environment. Additionally, armed with studies showing improved retention when information is presented verbally and visually as opposed to spoken-word alone, the firm installed video phones to enhance interactions among its geographically dispersed personnel. Foley also began the use of FLIP Video cameras, allowing attorneys and managers to give video updates in the place of lengthy emails.
“For 20 years, the InformationWeek 500 has honored the most innovative users of business technology,” said InformationWeek Editor-in-Chief Rob Preston. “Year after year, InformationWeek 500 companies harness technology to improve efficiency, boost productivity, drive revenue, and establish a competitive advantage. We applaud this year’s winners, and the CIOs and other executives whose ingenuity and risk taking are at the center of business technology innovation. ”
InformationWeek has identified and honored the nation’s most innovative users of information technology with its annual listing, now in its 20th year, and has tracked the technology, strategies, investments and administrative practices of America’s best-known companies. The list is unique among corporate rankings because it spotlights the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders.
