Foley Continues Growth in California with Addition of Labor & Employment Partner in San Diego
Foley & Lardner LLP announced today that Travis Jang‑Busby has joined the firm’s San Diego office as a partner in its Labor & Employment Practice Group. His arrival builds on Foley’s continued growth in California and marks the firm’s fifth partner hire in the state over the past three months and its 10th firmwide during that period, underscoring sustained momentum and continued investment across key markets and practices.
Jang‑Busby, who joins from Blank Rome, advises companies and management on a wide range of labor, employment, and commercial matters. He represents clients ranging from emerging companies to Fortune 50 organizations across industries including health care, defense, manufacturing, and biotechnology. His practice includes counseling on day-to-day employment matters and compliance with wage and hour laws, workplace policies, employee classification, and reductions in force.
“Travis brings a strong combination of high‑stakes litigation experience and day‑to‑day counseling that aligns directly with where we are seeing client demand,” said Carrie Hoffman, chair of Foley’s Labor & Employment Practice Group. “His experience handling complex wage-and-hour and representative actions, along with his work advising on evolving workplace compliance issues, strengthens the comprehensive counsel we provide to clients and adds meaningful depth to our national bench of more than 100 labor and employment attorneys across our U.S. offices.”
Jang‑Busby’s practice spans all phases of litigation, from early case assessment and dispositive motion practice through mediation, arbitration, and trial. He regularly represents businesses in class and representative actions in California and across the country, including matters brought under the California Private Attorneys General Act, the California Labor Code, and the Fair Labor Standards Act, as well as discrimination claims and administrative investigations. He also handles commercial disputes involving trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition, and contract‑related claims.
“San Diego and the broader California market remain a key focus of Foley’s growth strategy, and Travis’ arrival reflects the momentum we are building across the state,” said Paul Hunter, managing partner of Foley’s San Diego office. “Adding Travis to our team enhances our ability to serve clients across the full range of labor and employment matters as workplace issues continue to grow in complexity. We are delighted to welcome him to the firm.”
“I was drawn to Foley’s collaborative culture, national reach, and clear commitment to expanding its labor and employment capabilities on the West Coast,” said Jang-Busby. “The firm’s presence in San Diego provides an exciting opportunity to continue building my practice while working with colleagues across offices and disciplines to help clients navigate complex workplace and business challenges. I’m thrilled to join Foley and contribute to the firm’s continued growth and success.”
