Foley announced today that Erika Lorenz Alba has joined the firm as a public affairs director. She will be a member of the firm’s Government & Public Policy Practice. Based in the Jacksonville office, Alba will be an integral member of the firm’s Florida statewide lobbying team, which Florida Trend Magazine recently named the sixth largest lobbying practice in the state. Previously, Alba was principal and managing director at The Fiorentino Group, LLC.
Alba brings extensive governmental affairs experience to her role with Foley. While with The Fiorentino Group, Alba oversaw the organization’s multistate legislative practice. On behalf of clients, she monitored all pertinent legislation pending in the Legislatures of the fifty states and Congress, advising clients on the likelihood of legislative proposals passing. She also worked with clients to develop Florida and congressional political contribution giving plans, and strategies for building long-term working relationships with elected officials.
Previously, Alba was senior vice president and assistant general counsel with Fidelity National Financial. In this role she served as chief legislative counsel managing all of the organization’s governmental affairs issues. Alba was also responsible for developing legislative priorities for the organization and determining its positions on key legislative proposals.
Alba is the current chair for Associated Industries of Florida. She is a graduate of McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific, where she earned her Juris Doctor degree and a Masters of Law in International Business Transactions. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University, Northridge.
