Foley Expands Capital Markets and Public Company Advisory Bench, Adds Transactions Partner Ashley Sinclair in Chicago
Foley & Lardner LLP announced today that Ashley Sinclair has joined the firm as a partner in its Transactions Practice Group in Chicago, bolstering the firm’s capital markets and public company advisory capabilities.
Joining from Kirkland & Ellis, Sinclair returns to Foley after practicing at the firm from 2015 to 2020. She brings extensive experience advising public and private companies and financial sponsors on capital markets and complex corporate transactions, including initial public offerings, secondary and follow‑on equity offerings, debt offerings, liability management transactions, and the securities law aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and other transformational transactions.
“Ashley’s addition significantly strengthens our capital markets and public company advisory capabilities at a time when clients are navigating increasingly complex financing, reporting, and governance demands,” said Jim Peterson, chair of Foley’s Business Law Department. “Her background in senior‑level execution across IPO readiness, public‑company reporting, and capital structure transactions enhances how we support clients through both near‑term transactions and long‑term strategic planning.”
A core component of Sinclair’s practice focuses on advising publicly traded companies, their boards, and management teams on ongoing public company obligations, including SEC reporting and disclosure, stock exchange requirements, corporate governance, and fiduciary duties. She also counsels on stockholder activism matters, frequently in connection with complex financing strategies and capital markets transactions.
“Chicago and the broader Midwest remain priority markets for Foley, and Ashley’s return reflects our continued investment in strengthening our capabilities in the region,” said Frank Pasquesi, managing partner of Foley’s Chicago office. “Her familiarity with the firm, combined with her capital markets experience, adds meaningful depth to our Chicago team and enhances the resources we bring to public companies and sponsors. We are pleased to welcome her back to the firm.”
“Having started my career at Foley, I know firsthand the strength of the firm’s national platform, collaborative culture, and the value it delivers to clients,” said Sinclair. “I’m excited to return to Foley and build on the experience and relationships I’ve developed to help expand the firm’s capital markets practice, particularly as clients evaluate alternative financing strategies in today’s market.”
