Gardere's Fran Phillips Named 2012 Dallas Best Lawyers Environmental Law Lawyer of the Year
Best Lawyers, one of the oldest and most respected peer-review publications in the legal profession, has named Francis E. Phillips "Dallas Environmental Law Lawyer of the Year" for 2012.
Best Lawyers is designating "Lawyers of the Year" in high-profile legal specialties in large legal communities. Only one lawyer in each specialty and community is being honored as the "Lawyer of the Year." The current edition of The Best Lawyers in America is based on more than 3.9 million detailed evaluations of lawyers by other lawyers. Those being honored have received particularly high ratings with respect to their abilities, professionalism and integrity. Ms. Phillips is one of only three recipients of the "Environmental Law Lawyer of the Year" award statewide.
Ms. Phillips, a member of the Gardere Environmental Practice Group, has a practice that extends to all areas of law and policy relating to environmental compliance and natural resource regulation, including CERCLA and hazardous waste regulation, air permitting and water law. Ms. Phillips is also a member of Gardere's Chemical and Refining, Energy and Hospitality Industry Teams, among others. Prior to joining Gardere, she worked with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for more than 15 years, including nine years as the Deputy Regional Administrator for Region 6 in Dallas. Ms. Phillips is consistently ranked in Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers as a leader in her field.
"Fran truly deserves this recognition," says Steve Good, Gardere's Managing Partner. "Her combination of public and private sector experience gives her a unique perspective on environmental and other issues which she consistently uses to craft solutions beneficial to her clients. We congratulate her on this honor."
