Associate Alexander Kramer observed Russia’s decision to sign on to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development’s (OECD) Anti-Bribery Convention as a departure that will require proactive action from the country’s judicial system and enforcement agencies in order to create an effective anti-corruption environment. He said the Russian government will require time to accept new methods of operation from the OECD but viewed the decision to join the Convention as a positive step.
