The Wisconsin Law Foundation has selected Foley Partner James P. Peterson as the recipient of its 2012 Donald O’Melia Local Service Award. This prestigious award recognizes a lawyer who has made a significant public service contribution to the community.
Peterson has shown leadership and dedication toward serving the community through his long record of service to several non-profit organizations, including St. Aemilian-Lakeside and its two subsidiaries, Integrated Family Services, Inc. (IFS) and Capitol West Academy. As chairman of the board of directors for St. Aemilian-Lakeside and IFS, he donates his time and strategic insight toward the shared vision of providing support services to foster care families and children in Wisconsin. Additionally, Peterson contributes to St. Aemilian-Lakeside’s finance and governance committees. He also serves on the board of Capitol West Academy, a tuition-free public school which currently serves over 200 Milwaukee area children.
