Craig B. Florence, a partner in Gardere's litigation group, spoke to The Texas Lawbook about the South Texas decision awarding client Longview Energy Company rights to approximately 46,000 leasehold acres in the Eagle Ford Shale, valued at more than $500 million. The court found in favor of Longview based on its directors' breach of fiduciary duty, and aiding and abetting claims. Partner Randy D. Gordon and Associate Rachel Kingrey worked with Mr. Florence on the case.
"It's sort of like if you take one girl to the prom and leave with another, there's going to be trouble," says Mr. Florence.
