Foley is pleased to announce that Oncology ACO has been selected as the recipient of the firm’s 2012 Cancer Center Innovator Award, which honors organizations that have best distinguished themselves as innovators in the business of cancer care. The award was presented at the sixth annual Cancer Center Business Summit. Accepting the award on behalf of Oncology ACO was Dr. Leonard Kalman, President of Advanced Medical Specialties.
Oncology ACO was recognized for pioneering an innovative approach to financing and delivering value based oncology care. Oncology ACO participated in the 2012 Summit Annual Industry Research Survey: Oncology’s Fit in an ACO World, and has impressively demonstrated how community oncology evolved within the context of an ACO to advance the triple aim of accountable care: improve quality, reduce costs and provide patient centered population health management.
The Cancer Center Business Summit is the premiere forum for best business models and practices in community-based oncology. The sixth annual Summit, held in Dallas/Fort Worth, explored the transition to value based oncology, including effective strategies for achieving accountable cancer care. It offered attendees the opportunity to learn from industry leaders and peers about the most important issues facing cancer care providers today. Included on the Summit faculty and national Advisory Board are experienced cancer care executives, physician leaders, practice managers, suppliers, vendors and leaders from the financial, business, payor and legal communities.
