Texas Lawyer spoke with Gardere Trial Partner Todd Murray about why civil litigation filings are on the increase in federal courts, while dropping in Texas state courts. During his discussion with Texas Lawyer, Mr. Murray also explained why some litigants prefer to be in a federal court when given the choice, which has likely contributed to the increase in civil filings.
Mr. Murray focuses his practice on securities litigation, director and officer fiduciary duty and corporate governance disputes, litigation involving complex accounting and financial issues, and energy-related matters. He has argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit, served as lead and secondary trial counsel in numerous cases, and otherwise represented his clients in all aspects of complex business litigation in federal, state and county courts across the country.
