Foley Assists Digital Art Journal Triple Canopy with Archive Acquisition to NYU’s Fales Library
Foley acted as legal counsel in the acquisition of online magazine Triple Canopy’s archive by New York University’s Fales Library & Special Collections. The Triple Canopy collection includes print publications and editions; videos of discussions and performances; website analytics; and correspondences. In addition to its current archive, Triple Canopy will continue donating new materials to Fales Library on a rolling basis.
Foley partner Robert Weisbein led the Foley team in solidifying the mechanics surrounding the unique ongoing archive method. The firm devised a means of addressing the “rolling” acquisition of the archive and the status of intellectual property rights as the magazine continues to publish work by artists and writers. Selig Sacks serves as a board member and oversees Triple Canopy’s legal strategy.
