Foley Adds Transactional Labor & Employment Partner Cathryn Le Regulski

Foley & Lardner LLP announced today that Cathryn Le Regulski has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as a partner in its Labor & Employment Practice Group, further strengthening the firm’s employment counseling capabilities in connection with corporate transactions and high-growth company transitions across its Health Care & Life Sciences, Manufacturing, Innovative Technology, and Energy & Infrastructure Sectors.

Le Regulski, who joins Foley from Sidley Austin, advises public, private, and nonprofit companies on employment law matters arising from mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, financings, joint ventures, spinoffs, divestitures, initial public offerings, and other complex corporate transactions. Her work includes counseling on employee-related considerations that can affect deal execution and long-term business value, including executive transitions, incentive structures, workforce integration, redundancies, retention issues, and restrictive covenants.

“Cathryn brings a valuable combination of employment counseling experience and transactional fluency that is highly relevant to the needs of clients engaged in M&A, private equity, venture, and growth company work,” said Carrie Hoffman, chair of Foley’s Labor & Employment Practice Group. “Her experience advising on employment diligence, workforce integration, retention strategies, and other critical workforce considerations enhances our ability to support clients through complex transactions and strengthens the integrated service we provide across practices.”

Le Regulski advises private equity sponsors, venture capital investors, emerging and venture-backed companies, global enterprises, and publicly-traded companies on employment issues that arise throughout the business lifecycle. She counsels clients on transaction-related workforce considerations as well as workforce matters associated with growth, expansion, integration, and organizational change, with experience spanning the health care, life sciences, technology, energy, and manufacturing industries. Her practice includes helping high-growth companies scale and manage their workforces from the first key hire through exit, as well as advising buyers, sellers, and investors on the people-related aspects of transactions to help secure the intended value of the business.

“Cathryn is an excellent addition to our office and to our broader national platform,” said David Sanders, managing partner of Foley’s Washington, D.C. office. “She has earned a strong reputation as a trusted advisor known for her client service and deep understanding of the challenges businesses face. Her experience and client-focused approach will be a tremendous asset to our clients, and we are delighted to welcome her to Foley.”

“Foley’s collaborative, sector-focused platform is an excellent fit for my practice and the clients I serve,” said Le Regulski. “I was drawn to the opportunity to work alongside colleagues I deeply respect across the firm’s corporate, private equity, finance, and other complementary practices to provide integrated counsel on matters that increasingly require multidisciplinary support. I’m excited to join a firm with such a strong national platform that has built a genuinely integrated team and help clients achieve their business objectives.”

Le Regulski’s arrival builds on the continued growth of Foley’s national Labor & Employment bench, following the recent addition of partner Travis Jang-Busby in San Diego.
