Attorney John Litchfield was featured in a Chicago Lawyer magazine’s cover story, “In Your Law Firm, Out of the Closet,” on July 1, 2015. The article discussed this year’s Chicago Lawyer annual survey, in which firms reported 2.6 percent of their ranks self-identify as LGBT and how the culture and community of law firms has evolved. Litchfield, a member of the Foley’s diversity committee, said, “When I was applying for jobs, I was out on my resume. And that was because I didn’t want to work at a place where it wouldn’t be OK to be my whole self. I wouldn’t work as well. I wouldn’t be as dedicated to the firm. And I think all of that is important to young lawyers.”
