Gardere Chair Holly O’Neil Honored with Texas Tech’s 2015 ‘Distinguished Alumni Award’
Gardere Chair Holland N. O'Neil has been named a “Distinguished Alumni” by the Texas Tech University School of Law Alumni Association. Ms. O’Neil and other award honorees will be recognized at the 12th Annual Law School Gala on March 5, 2016 in Lubbock, Texas.
In June 2013, Ms. O'Neil was elected chair of Gardere’s board of directors, making her the Firm’s first female leader. She is well-regarded in the bankruptcy bar among judges and financial advisors, and is described by clients in Chambers USA as “a top-notch lawyer,” receiving praise for her courtroom presence and negotiating skills. Ms. O’Neil graduated from the Texas Tech University School of Law in 1987 and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Texas Tech Law Review from 1986-87.
Each year, the Texas Tech University School of Law Alumni Association honors alumni who have made significant contributions to the bench, bar or community, and whose accomplishments have brought credit to the law school and to the legal profession as a whole. Award winners are selected by a steering committee comprised of faculty, staff, student and alumni representatives.
