The Hub, the online news outlet of the Dallas Independent School District, covered the 26th Annual Gardere MLK Jr. Oratory Competition semifinals, which included speeches from all the students who placed first in their individual campus contests.
“After giving impassioned speeches on their dreams for today’s world, the 14 Dallas ISD semifinalists in the 26th annual Gardere Martin Luther King Jr. Oratory Competition learned which ones among them will compete in the final round next month,” writes the publication.
The Dallas semifinalists are Marna Al-Isawi of J.P. Starks Math, Science and Technology Vanguard; Emerson Byrd of Thomas Tolbert Elementary; Asad King of William Brown Miller Elementary; Wesley Stokes of Harry C. Withers Elementary; Kennedi Stone of L.L. Hotchkiss Elementary; Skye Turner of Charles Rice Learning Center; Kevinyana Warren of Clara Oliver Elementary; and Jeremiah Wilson of Thomas L. Marsalis Elementary.
