Of Counsel Elgie Sims Jr. was quoted in a Chicago Daily Law Bulletin article, “High court looking for pro bono attorneys,” about a pilot program that seeks to reduce the backlog of criminal appeals in Illinois by recruiting a steady pipeline of pro bono attorneys to represent low-income defendants.
Sims, who is also an Illinois state senator, said he expects a high level of participation from the legal community. “This is one of the examples to me that shows how much the profession is committed to doing good in our community,” he said.
