Dallas Regional Chamber Highlights Foley’s Response to Pandemic for Clients and Employees
Dallas office managing partner Michael Newman was featured in the Dallas Regional Chamber spotlight, “Confronting COVID-19 Q&A Series,” about how the office is facing the challenge of COVID-19 and how it is helping clients. The article discussed the firm’s coronavirus resource center as a valuable business tool for clients, the office’s virtual engagement task force and the challenges that lie ahead.
“After a few weeks of stay-at-home mandates, it became clear that our close-knit Dallas law firm community was missing the daily office interactions that come from working in a large and busy law firm,” Newman said. “We adjusted our teams and established a “Virtual Engagement Task Force” that quickly developed a six-week virtual engagement program.”
Newman mentioned highlights of virtual engagement task force including a weekly meditation time on Mondays led by a wellness coach and “Fitness Fridays” where a Dallas trainer lead the office through a boot-camp style workout each week. The office also has weekly challenges including online Pictionary, Jeopardy and happy hours. “Our culture is very collegial, competitive, collaborative, and energetic. We’ve worked hard to carry over those traits during remote work so they can remain intact when we head back to the office,” Newman said.
