Gregory Husisian Discusses USMCA Renegotiation, Auto Industry Impact
Foley & Lardner LLP partner Gregory Husisian shared insight on the incoming administration’s prospective approach to renegotiating the U.S. – Mexico – Canada Agreement and its potential consequences for the auto industry in the CNN article, “What Trump’s pledge to redo his own trade agreement with Canada and Mexico could mean.”
Discussing how renegotiations of the trade agreement could impact the U.S. auto industry, Husisian commented, “It’s highly likely that the negotiators will be looking at how to deal with Chinese parts and components,” which have circumvented previously enacted tariffs through entering the U.S. market via Mexico.
“A lot of these wonky, behind-the-scenes things will have as big or bigger impact than the stuff you see in the news,” he added.
