John Birmingham and Jacqueline Hayduk Publish on Fair Housing Considerations for Providers Using AI
Foley & Lardner LLP attorneys John Birmingham and Jacqueline Hayduk authored the Westlaw Today article, “Fair housing best practices for housing providers using AI.”
The authors provider an overview of the Fair Housing Act, provide helpful tenant screening tips, and describe potential pitfalls associated with creating and delivering targeted online advertisements that rely on artificial intelligence.
“AI can be a wonderful tool for housing providers to efficiently meet business objectives, but the application and impact deriving from use of the above technologies are not exempt from FHA
requirements,” the authors conclude. “Housing providers must be diligent in ensuring any advanced technologies used in relation to housing services comply with fair housing law.”
