Foley & Lardner LLP’s significant expansion of its California presence with the addition of five partners to the firm’s Intellectual Property Department is featured across legal press.
The additions of John Schnurer, Louise Lu, Kevin Patariu, Miguel Bombach in the firm’s San Diego office and Tom Anderton in Foley’s San Francisco office are featured in The Recorder article, “Foley & Lardner Hires 5 California IP Partners.”
“We’re trying to be very strategic in our hires, and we’re growing as a law firm,” Foley & Larder CEO Daljit Doogal said in an interview. “Our strategic vision is to continue to grow our bench strength with the highest quality people in the country.”
Commenting on the San Diego group’s move to the firm, Schnurer said, “Foley has a permanent prosecution practice that is just robust and fantastic in the sense that they can do prosecution on a profitable basis, and that was very attractive to us as we expand our work with prosecution and then litigation.”
“What we also liked about Foley was it has a deep IP bench that we could actually feel like we could add value to and expand upon it with our team and client base,” he added.
Anderton noted his long relationship with Foley and how he frequently turned to the firm as outside counsel during his time in-house. “I almost joined Foley a couple of times over the last 10 or 15 years,” he added. “They were my go-to firm, the people that I hired as my trusted counsel and actually helped me.”
Coverage of Foley’s new arrivals also appeared across Attorney at Law, Bloomberg Law, Daily Journal, Global Legal Chronicle, Law360, Legal News Feed, Westlaw Today, and World IP Review.
