Foley Shortlisted in Three Categories at Legalweek Leaders in Tech Law Awards
Foley & Lardner LLP is pleased to announce partner Chanley Howell and the firm’s innovative legal technology tools FoleyChat and Athena are finalists in three categories at the 2026 Legalweek Leaders in Tech Law Awards.
The award series honors individuals and organizations for achievements in driving innovation forward in the legal industry.
Howell is a finalist in the Innovator of the Year category, honoring individual law firm practitioners who have spearheaded initiatives or introduced new solutions to creatively address legal problems through the use of technology. Howell drives innovation both for clients within his technology law practice and across the firm through his leadership of legal technology initiatives. He was named the 2025 Innovator of the Year at Law.com‘s Florida Legal Awards.
FoleyChat, the firm’s internally developed AI workspace, is a finalist in the Best Use of AI category for how it streamlines legal strategy development research, contract review, and day-to-day workflows, all within a secure, intuitive interface. FoleyChat was also a finalist for the 2025 KM&I LexPrize™ Innovation Award.
Athena, the firm’s bespoke CRM system, is a finalist in the Innovation in Knowledge Management category. Athena was also recently commended at the Financial Times’ Innovative Lawyers North America Awards for its transformation of how Foley accesses, shares, and strategically leverages information across the firm.
Honorees will be recognized at an award ceremony during the 2026 Legalweek conference on March 9, 2026, in New York.
