Report on Medicare Compliance
Foley & Lardner LLP Judith Waltz commented on the U.S. Department of Justice’s recent fraud enforcement action in the Report on Medicare Compliance article, “Trump Creates DOJ Fraud Enforcement Division, Targets Minn. Medicaid Payments.”
Waltz remarked on the unprecedented nature of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) considering a freeze on the federal share of Medicaid funding to the state of Minnesota. “We have to worry this approach could happen in other states,” she noted of the aggressive posture CMS has adopted by freezing enrollment of 13 provider types.
“At the end of the day, you wonder how the state Medicaid program can assure care is getting to who needs it,” she added.
