Foley & Lardner LLP partner Aaron Maguregui offered legal insights in a recent Law360 article on AI integration across the health care sector.
Maguregui described the current stage of AI adoption in health care as “an exercise in maturity,” commenting, “Health care is, like many other ecosystems, attempting to figure out where AI fits and where it doesn’t.” He added that companies are starting to assess how specific AI tools may increase or reduce risk.
“When you see something in the press about the risk that AI is creating or a lawsuit that was filed because of AI, you usually are trying to figure out where you fit in that spectrum of risk.” He continued, “Maybe people feel that the temperature is rising. I don’t think it’s hit a boiling point yet.”
