Matthew Clouthier brings an array of experience in electrical engineering to his role as a patent engineer, providing crucial support to clients throughout the patent application process.

Matthew brings hands on experience and technical skills to his projects. His prior engineering experience includes internships with Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems and Sub-Zero group. At Leonardo DRS, Matthew contributed to cutting edge power electronic technologies for the United States Navy. He upgraded outdated network components to ensure compliance with contract and MIL specifications and redesigned switchboard wiring documentation to enhance manufacturing efficiency. As a reliability engineer intern at Sub-Zero Group, he supported a new consumer appliance launch. He utilized motor current signature analysis to predict fan motor failures and used force sensors and microcontrollers to address safety concerns related to finger pinch points.

Prior to joining the firm, Matthew participated in Foley’s summer patent engineer program.
