Asad Khimani works in our Business Law Department as part of our Transactions Practice Group. Asad started at Foley as a summer associate, where he performed due diligence for M&A transactions, drafted incorporation documents for entrepreneurs including bylaws and articles of incorporation. He also drafted a country conditions report for Sudan to provide supporting documentation for an asylum case.
During law school, Asad worked as a Student Attorney in the University of Michigan Juvenile Justice Clinic where he represented juvenile defendants in district court criminal proceedings advocating for more lenient sentences. He also authored a memorandum to a Michigan district court judge supporting the release of a prisoner who had received a life sentence without parole as a juvenile.
