Chad Tucker is an associate in Foley & Lardner LLP’s Insurance practice group. His focus is on capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions, reinsurance, insurance regulatory matters, and financing matters in the insurance and financial services industry. Chad works closely with partners and clients to execute sophisticated M&A and capital markets deals for insurers, reinsurers and financial institutions, advising on regulatory strategy, complex structuring and cross‑border execution across multiple jurisdictions.
Chad drafts and negotiates core transaction documents in structured insurance deals, including catastrophe bond issuances and funding agreement‑backed note (FABN) transactions. He leads due diligence and closing coordination for private insurance M&A. His work also includes preparing and revising offering documents, reinsurance agreements, trust agreements and supporting opinions across multiple deal types.
On the regulatory side, Chad synthesizes insurance statutes and filing requirements across 50 states, including Form A approvals and pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) licenses. He manages state regulatory filings and correspondence with insurance departments to secure transactional approvals, and contributes to strategic client communications, internal closing checklists and coordination with tax, finance and regulatory teams.
Prior to working in a law firm, Chad worked a legal intern in the Office of the New York Attorney General.
