Matthew Zavaro
Law Graduate
Matthew focuses on business litigation and dispute resolution. He joined Foley as a summer associate where he drafted memoranda and guided inspections in cases involving consumer protection and constitutional issues. Matthew also researched pretrial and appellate procedures and contributed to litigation strategy across a range of commercial and regulatory matters. He brings a strong analytical foundation and a practical approach to resolving high-stakes disputes.
Prior to joining Foley, Matthew worked as a summer law clerk at two other law firms, interned with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as a Fall 2023 SEC Scholar, and spent two semesters with the University of Texas Law and Religion Clinic. Throughout these experiences, Matthew drafted sections of significant briefs including dispositive motions filed in federal district courts, appellate briefs filed in the Supreme Court of Texas and in the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, and an amicus brief submitted to the Supreme Court of the United States. Additionally, prior to attending law school Matthew spent five years working alongside his father as an owner-operator of two retail motor fuel stations. In his law practice, he strives to employ the business acumen taught to him by his father when analyzing potential outcomes and paths forward.
