Commenting the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services highlighting billing inconsistencies in remote monitoring in September 2024 amid newly introduced codes, Ferrante said, “No one’s completely squeaky clean.”
“It’s just so complicated,” he continued. “There’s always some error rate of mistakes. So, not surprisingly, things come up in those audits. Sometimes it’s not worrisome. Sometimes it’s, ‘What the heck has been going on?'”
